RIDING AT PIPESTAVE HILL
WINTER UPDATE:
THE CROSS COUNTRY COURSE AT PIPESTAVE HILL IS NOW CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. The course will not reopen until late June or early July. Closing and opening dates will be posted here.
The rings, trails and fields are open for your hacking pleasure when the footing is firm enough... please use mowed paths only in every field. Please be considerate and do not damage the footing. Trailer parking is in the gravel parking area near the rings, accessed through the main entrance. Please remove all your hay and manure when you go, as we share this area with other activities.
MILL POND AREA: Please WALK only near the pond and roadways leading to and from the pond. This area is too congested for any other gait and there are many families with young children and dogs there that are not familiar with horses. NEW! Horses are no longer allowed to wade in the pond at the dock area. There is another area further down the trail past the gate.
RINGS, FIELDS & TRAILS The two fenced rings are available for use as are any of the trails and paths in the fields. Please ride around the perimeter and down the center path only in the back hay field. Be respectful of the footing and do not ride in any area where you can do damage. If you are leaving sinking hoofprints, then the area is too soft.
ATHLETIC FIELDS We share Pipestave Hill with others and it is important to respect other users. The four athletic fields are now all in use. Horses are NEVER allowed on these fields. Walking/riding paths are around the perimeters only, please follow signs and be careful using them. Improvements are still in the process of being made on these paths. This does mean that these perimeters may be available for the cross country course again, depending on footing.
PARKING & CLEAN-UP If you are coming to ride at the Pipestave area on a Saturday, the parking area at the main entrance could be very full with several sports games going on. You do always have the option of parking your trailer at the lower Mill Pond entrance. Whether you park in the main parking area or at the lower area, be sure to park on the gravel areas only and take all manure and hay with you. |
