EVENT CANCELLATION POLICY

It is always an agonizing decision but we must put the safety of our competitors first.  We must err on the conservative side than risk our riders.  West Newbury soil has a clay base which can create a slick surface with heavy rain, and our course is quite hilly.  We must also consider the potential damage so many horses would have on water-logged footing. 

We recognize that our competitors are a hardy and enthusiastic lot (two features we adore in them) but we want your experience to be positive, safe and confidence-building. We are all disappointed when we have to cancel but it is a lose-lose proposition when we attempt to run our events under very marginal conditions. If we do decide to cancel, we contact each rider by phone and you will receive a credit of half the cost for a future event.
