Wednesday February 12, 2020 at the GAR Memorial Library from 6:30-7:45 pm

Trails are an integral component of the open space and natural beauty that West Newbury residents and visitors can enjoy year-round. Whether dog walking at Mill Pond, bird watching along the Merrimack, riding through Riverbend Conservation Area or exploring around the Artichoke Reservoir or Brake Hill, there are miles of interconnected pathways that make West Newbury an Essex County treasure.

Who developed those trails? Who maintains them? How are they marked and mapped? What activities are permitted where and when?

The West Newbury Riding and Driving Club is hosting a presentation and discussion of these and other questions you may have on Wednesday February 12, 2020 at the GAR Memorial Library from 6:30-7:45 pm. Deb Hamilton, WNRDC officer and ECTA (Essex County Trail Association) board member, will lead the talk, and all interested trail users are invited to attend. Please join us, whether you walk a dog, pedal a mountain bike, ride a horse, seek “shinrin-yoku” (forest bathing) or hike with the kids, and if your interest is in finding, using, developing, protecting and maintaining our beautiful trails. Maps, websites and links to other organizations will be available as well. This is a free event, open to all, not just to WNRDC and ECTA members.
