PIPESTAVE HILL CROSS COUNTRY CLEAN-UP DAY

Earn a volunteer discount card for future activities!

June 22nd, 9:00AM

Meet at Mill Pond Parking Lot (Lower Field) This is the day we get our course ready for the whole season! The more people attend, the less work there is for everyone. The paths will all be mowed in advance, so our job is to clean up around the jumps, do simple repairs, clear the wooded paths that connect the parts of the course, and generally make the course look great. Weed whackers are a most valued item, so please bring one if you have it. Also needed are metal leaf rakes, pruning shears and loppers. Bring your gloves and tick repellent too.  There will be a yummy picnic lunch after we are done. You can earn a volunteer card for your work which entitles you to a discount at our future activities.

WNRDC POLO SHIRTS ARE HERE

The club recently purchased beautiful dark green polo shirts with our logo on the front and WNRDC embroidered on the sleeve. The shirts are $35 each. Please contact Barb Hill, barbkhill@comcast.net to get yours today.

West Newbury Memorial Day Parade Re-Cap

On Monday, May 27th, approximately 15 riders participated in the West Newbury Memorial Day Parade. What a great turn out! Horses and riders were decked out in red, white, and blue and while the majority of them had never participated in a parade before, walked down the road like they did it every day. Very proud WNRDC moment! Special thanks to Lili and Michele for pooper scooper duty.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We could really use your help!  Many hands make light work. If you can volunteer in any of the following capacities, it would be greatly appreciated!

PIPESTAVE HILL HORSE TRIALS

The Team needs your efforts to provide the best the club has to offer. Team Pipestave is seeking a new member for the Team to replace a retiring member. The duties are varied as the Team is cooperative and include attending several organizational meetings and helping with set up and day of show responsibilities. If you are interested in helping Team Pipestave, please contact us at TeamPipestave@wnrdc.com.

The Team improved and re-energized our competition, including new jumps for both stadium and cross country phases, a program for competitors and enhanced prizes. Our Horse Trials function in many ways, providing fundraising efforts to support the Club and serving our educational mission by nurturing our riders and their horses in our fun and competitive event while serving as a stepping stone on their riding journey.

ADOPT A JUMP

We are looking for volunteers to adopt a cross country jump. In doing so, you would be responsible for maintaining and decorating it for our show series.

This year we are holding a contest whereby the competitors vote on which jump was their favorite. Adopt a jump, get creative, and win the contest! If you have any interest in helping out please contact lucy.clewley@yahoo.com.

MOWERS NEEDED

We are looking to add one or two people to help out in the Pipestave mowing rotation. It doesn’t have to be split equally but having others in the rotation would be greatly appreciated. All equipment is provided. There is a mower and weed whacker in the trailer. Please contact Jeffrey_clewley@yahoo.com.

The club is in need of a person who will take charge of our paper goods. Responsibilities include:

Purchasing (reimbursed by the club) plates, cups, silverware, napkins, etc., as needed for the annual meeting, summer BBQ, clinics, as well as other various events throughout the year.

Coordinating with event planners regarding theme/color, anticipated number of people attending, any special requests needed, etc.

Dropping off and picking up the supplies from the event and storing the supply containers at your home. If you’re interested in taking on this position, please contact boardofdirectors@wnrdc.com
