Clinics, Lectures, and Social Events

Social Events and Club Gatherings

The WNRDC social scene has included amazing potlucks, barbecues, dances, Yankee swaps, holiday parties, Memorial Day Parade, and the Annual General Meeting.

We typically host an Autumnal Equinox Social, a potluck feast and social gathering in the Mill Pond Lodge. Members bring a favorite dish and celebrate the beauty of the setting with friends who share a love of the incredible landscape with equine companions. Members free, small charge for guests.

Our members also dress up and ride their horses in the West Newbury Memorial Day parade!

The Annual General Meeting is held at various locations and includes election of officers and board members, planning for the following year, and reconnecting over light refreshments.

In December, we host a Holiday Party and Yankee Swap at various locations including practical or wacky gifts to pass – it’s up to you. Bring a $20-25 gift and a dish to share, and be prepared for a great evening of laughs, crazy swapping, and yummy treats.

Clinics, Lectures, and workshops

WNRDC has hosted clinics, lectures, and workshops that have included:

  • Lectures from guest veterinarians with talks on equine topics like hoof care, nutrition, and diseases.
  • Workshops like yoga for equestrians and proper conditioning techniques for the rider.
  • Mounted sessions and workshops with well known clinicians to better enable equestrians to ride safely, comfortably and in union with their mount. Subjects have included centered riding, Western dressage, bombproofing, liberty training, and equine massage.

Check our calendar to see what is scheduled!  Check back often as the offerings change as we find new and exciting equestrian-related information to share with club members.
